Kyiv Under Drone and Missile Assault: One Fatality, Fires, and Widespread Evacuations
Russian forces launched a major drone and missile air attack on Ukraine’s capital overnight, killing at least one person and sending residents into panic as multiple buildings burned and caught fire.

Poland, a NATO member, activated its fighter jets to protect its adjacent airspace in a preventive stance, a move noted by Polish military officials who cited Article 5 of the alliance’s collective security provision.
Firefighters were forced to douse flares in an apartment block, and the city’s ambulance station sustained damage; at least one person was critically injured, raising the injured count to 11 from an initial six.
