The collective presents a stark roster of high‑profile victims, including women who assert abuse at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein, former business partner Jean‑Luc Brunel, and businessman Mohammed Al Fayed. Brunel, who was found hanged in his prison cell in 2022, had been charged with the sexual exploitation of minors—charges that overlapped with the victims’ own claims.
During a press conference, spokesperson Thysia Husiman declared, "Rape doesn't expire, trauma doesn't expire," underscoring the emotional and legal toll of the time bar. She alleged that Jean‑Luc Brunel forced her into a sexual assault at 18 in Paris—a claim that would have fallen outside the expatriation window had she reported it more recently.
The movement gains additional traction from the case of former BBC producer Lisa Brinkworth. After a 1998 undercover investigation revealed sexual abuse within elite model management, Brinkworth’s allegations were suppressed because the 20‑year statute of limitations had elapsed. She has since taken her case to the European Court of Human Rights, arguing that the BBC withheld vital evidence that could have substantiated her claims before the deadline.
The collective’s demands aim to ensure that victims are not penalized for delays they have no control over—whether due to shame, coercion, or systemic barriers. They call on French lawmakers to amend the criminal code, repealing the time limits that undermine accountability.
